Key theme of the new This is FINLAND Magazine: Wise use of resources
From now on, This is FINLAND is the new name of the annual English-language publication which, since 2003, carried the name Focus on Finland. Published in the collaborative spirit of Team Finland by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Sitra, Invest in Finland/Finpro and Finnfacts, the magazine will now become a more integral part of Finland’s country-branding efforts on the internet and in social media.
This is FINLAND is targeted at a foreign readership, with the goal of opening up inspiring perspectives on business opportunities available in Finland and on Finnish society and culture.
“Finland has expertise on how to resolve climatic problems and on the wise use of scarce resources,” explains Editor-in-Chief Petra Theman from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. “This year, we wished to highlight this aspect along with our many other strengths, because our magazine reaches a number of decision-makers, potential business partners and investors.”
The topics of the newly published 2016 issue include smart cities, the circular economy, investment activity stimulated by start-ups, Finland’s young and bold fashion designers and its strong Nordic food culture.
This is FINLAND Magazine will be distributed at Finnish missions abroad and at international trade events and seminars showcasing Finnish knowhow. Produced by Otavamedia Customer Communications, the magazine will be published in March also in Spanish, Chinese, German, French and Russian.
