SOK has opened its third Prisma in St Petersburg
The opening of the third Prisma in St Petersburg was celebrated on Ploschad Konstituzija on Thursday. The investments in St Petersburg will continue as the fourth Prisma will be opened in the area of Moskovskaya this summer.
The Prisma of approximately 2,800 m2 is located on Ploschad Konstituzija in the Moskovsky district.
– The third Prisma was opened on the ground floor of a busy office centre. Over 250,000 people live in the area. Prisma is situated only a short walk from the Moskovskaya underground station. There are no other daily consumer goods stores in the area really, says the Managing Director (Corporation President) of SOK Retail Int. Oy, Vesa Punnonen.
The new Prisma employs approximately 50 retail professionals. The product range covers daily consumer goods. The Prisma will organise an opening day celebration for its consumers on 4 June.
– We have received extremely positive feedback on all of our Prisma stores in St Petersburg. The sales have exceeded our expectations and the customer flows have been positive surprises, says Punnonen.
The value of the investment was approximately five million euros. The Lider group owns the Prisma building. The project was completed within the planned schedule.
In summer 2008, SOK opened Prisma Superstore on Nevski Prospekt in the centre of St Petersburg. The overall area of the Prisma, which is located by the shopping, business and fitness centre in the Moskva hotel, is approximately 2,500 m2. The second Prisma opened in autumn 2008. The Prisma hypermarket of approximately 8,500 m2 is located in a shopping centre in Noviy Deviatkino, where over 30 speciality stores, fitness centre, restaurants and other entertainment services can also be found. There are 650 parking spaces for use of Prisma’s customers.
The fourth Prisma will be opened in the latter part of summer 2009. The newest Prisma will be situated in the Moskovskaya area, next to the Zvezdnaja underground station.
– We will continue to invest in St Petersburg. In the long term, we will open 15-20 Prismas. The competitive advantages of Prismas are their reliability, extensive product ranges, efficiency and easy shopping, says Punnonen.
Prisma chain is the leader of the hypermarket trade in Finland. SOK also has three hotels in St Petersburg. Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge is a high-quality spa hotel. Sokos Hotel Vasilievsky is also situated on Vasily island, and the third hotel, Sokos Hotel Olympic Garden, is along Moskovsky prospekt.

SOK lanserar S:t Petersburgs tredje Prisma-affär
Invigningen av SOK:s tredje Prisma firas på torsdagen i S:t Petersburg vid Ploschad Konstituzija. Investeringarna i S:t Petersburg fortsätter när den fjärde Prisma-affären öppnas i sommar i Moskovskaya.
Nya Prisma på 2 800 m² är placerad vid Ploschad Konstituzija i stadsdelen Moskovski.
– Den tredje Prisma-affären öppnades i kontorscentrets nedervåning. Mer än 250 000 personer bor i området. Affären är belägen ett stenkast från tunnelbanestationen Moskovskaya. Det finns inga andra dagligvarubutiker i detta område, konstaterar SOK Retail Int. Oy:s verkställande direktör Vesa Punnonen.
Affären sysselsätter cirka 50 specialister på handel. Produktsortimentet omfattar dagligvaror. Den fjärde juni arrangeras en invigningsfest för den nya supermarketens kunder.
– Vi har fått oerhört positiv respons för alla våra Prisma-affärer i S:t Petersburg. Kundtillströmningen och försäljningens omfattning har överträffat förväntningarna rejält, säger Punnonen.
Investeringsvärdet ligger på cirka 5 miljoner euro. Byggnaden där affären finns ägs av koncernen Lider. Projektet färdigställdes enligt det fastställda tidsschemat.
Sommaren 2008 öppnade SOK en Prisma Superstore mitt i S:t Petersburgs innersta centrum invid Nevsky Prospekt. Prisma-affären, placerad nära Moskva-hotellets köp-, affärs- och motionscentrum, är 2 500 kvadratmeter stor. Den andra Prisma-affären öppnades på hösten 2008. Denna affär är 8 500 kvadratmeter stor och ligger i området Noviy Deviatkino. Intill affären finns 650 parkeringsplatser.
Prismas fjärde affären öppnas mot slutet av sommaren 2009 i området Moskovskaya bredvid tunnelbanestationen Zvezdnaja.
– Våra satsningar i S:t Petersburg fortsätter. På längre sikt kommer vi att öppna 15–20 Prismaaffärer, berättar Punnonen. Prisma-affärernas konkurrensfördelar i S:t Petersburg är pålitlighet, brett sortiment, effektivitet och goda inköpsmöjligheter.
Prisma-kedjan är marknadsledande inom hypermarkethandel i Finland. SOK har också tre hotell i S:t Petersburg. Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge är ett exklusivt spahotell. På ön Vasily ligger dessutom Sokos Hotel Vasilievsky samt Sokos Hotel Olympic Garden invid Moskovskii Prospekt.
